Giving to Illinois

Thank you for considering a gift to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  The legacy of private giving at Illinois is one that spans generations of alumni and friends.  We are indeed fortunate that so many people have invested in making this the strong and vibrant place of higher learning that it is today.  We cannot accomplish our mission without such support and appreciate that you are exploring possible giving opportunities.

We value every gift made to Illinois and want to help you with your giving experience.  Each gift has a story behind it with people who care deeply about a part of their life that connects to the campus - perhaps it was a faculty member who was a mentor, a scholarship that made all the difference in being able to attend, a research lab that launched a career, or a family member you wish to honor.  Whether it is a current use fund or a legacy gift that will be in place in perpetuity, every time a person shares his or her resources, the University benefits greatly from that generosity. You can read about Gifts in Action here.

Today, the University is engaged in the largest and most ambitious campaign of our history.  The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Institutional Advancement takes great pride in working with private donors to advance the University's mission.  Your contribution, at any level, makes a real difference.

Gifts to the University take many forms. We hope you find this list of options helpful.

Annual Funds - unrestricted gift funds for the Urbana-Champaign campus, its schools and colleges, and other campus units and programs. These gifts are often the only source of discretionary funds available to deans and directors to respond to unforeseen opportunities and needs.

Supporting a College or Unit - you can make a gift directly to the college or unit of your choice.

Types of Gifts - from current use to endowment; from student support to faculty support, may options are available to make your gift as personal as possible.

Planned Giving - The Gift Planning section of the University of Illinois Foundation’s Web site is designed to help you evaluate your options with regard to how and what you donate.
