Illini Center West Luncheon Series
The Distinguished Speaker Luncheon Series features prominent speakers serving as the host and is a forum for Illinois alumni to meet other alumni in an informal setting while participating in powerful and engaging conversations ranging from technology, entrepreneurship, and creativity to healthcare, education and public service.
This luncheon series occurs on the 3rd Tuesday on the month and will rotate locations between the Illini Center West in San Francisco and various venues in the Silicon Valley. The space is limited at each luncheon to ensure the intimate setting of the discussion. The series is only open to Illinois Alumni.
November 16 - Brian Glazebrook
Brian Glazebrook is Manager of Supply Chain Social Responsibility at Cisco Systems, Inc. He joined Cisco in 2006 to develop and lead the company's program managing environmental, labor, health, safety and ethical performance of its suppliers. In this role, Brian is Cisco's representative in the Electronic Industry Code of Conduct (EICC) and Global e-Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) indsutry organizations.
Prior to joining Cisco, Brian spent over 10 years as a management consultant focusing on corporate sustainability issues. He is a recognized expert on Life Cycle Assessment and has worked with a number of Fortune 500 firms on design for environment, life-cycle management, green buildings, climate change and sustainability reporting projects. He was involved in the development of the first draft of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and has supported the U.S. and Canadian governments in developing standards for evaluating footprint of "green" projects and products.
Brian has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from the University of Illinois, a Master of Arts Degree in Public Policy and a Master of Science Degree in Environmental Science from Indiana University.

What: Lunch with Brian Glazebrook - Corporate Sustainability and the New Normal - how the recession has changed business and created a 'new normal' and how sustainability is a big part of that. Brian will provide some info on Cisco and what they've been doing to set the context and begin the discussion.

Early arrival begins at 11:45 AM
Introduction of attendees, presentation and discussion will begin at 12:10 PM
The presentation/discussion will have a hard stop time of 1:30 PM

The Registration site will open on Thursday, November 5 at 10:10 PM PST. If you try to register before this time, you will see a message that the site will open on November 6; the web registration form is housed on the Illinois server and tracks time by CST.
Please note: Everyone will be able to access the registration site. The guest list will be determined by the date and time stamp of the web registration. A confirmation email will be sent to you on Tuesday, November 10 from illinicenterwest@illinois.edu.
Cost: You’re welcome to bring a bagged lunch or if you wish to order a boxed lunch, the cost will be $15 to be delivered from Panera Bread Company. Make your lunch selection on the registration site. If you are ordering a boxed lunch, please bring cash or a check made payable to: University of Illinois Foundation.
